Mónica Coronado & Manito

Zangeres Mónica Coronado heeft samen met gipsy flamencogitarist Manito een concertprogramma genaamd ‘Melodías del Corazón’. Met deze warmbloedige voorstelling wordt de luisteraar meegenomen naar een wereld vol passie, weemoed en hartstocht. Op het repertoire staan zowel bestaande als zelfgeschreven Spaanstalige nummers.

Bij de concerten krijgt Monica de mensen snel op het puntje van de stoel. Zij weet haar publiek te betoveren met haar charisma. Manito weet haar altijd met zijn virtuoze spel te stimuleren en het onderste uit de kan te halen. Tijdens de concerten bespeelt hij ook diverse andere snaarinstrumenten, waaronder de Laud (Spaanse Luit).

Monica Coronado is geboren en opgegroeid in Barcelona. Haar ouders komen van origine uit Castilla de la Mancha. In de auto van haar vader hoorde ze vaak flamencomuziek. Op haar 25e levensjaar is ze met haar gitaar op muzikale wereldreis gegaan. In deze periode heeft ze verschillende muziekstijlen geproefd. Via Cuba, Amerika en India is ze uiteindelijk in Nederland beland. In Arnhem heeft ze lichte muziek gestudeerd.

Manito is op zeer vroege leeftijd begonnen met gitaarspelen. Hij ontwikkelde zijn eigen stijl op de flamencogitaar. Zijn spel is intuïtief en rijk aan diverse invloeden. Met zijn vurige en verhalende improvisaties houdt Manito een dialoog met Monica. Zijn naam is een directe verwijzing naar de Franse gitaarlegende ‘Manitas de Plata’.

Singer Mónica Coronado has teamed up with gipsy flamenco guitarist Manito to present a warm-blooded show called 'Melodías del Corazón' that will take the audience to a world full of passion, melancholy, and fervor. Mónica will sing both existing and own Spanish songs.

During Mónica’s concerts, people are quick to get on the edge of their seats. She easily enchants them with her charisma. With his virtuoso guitar playing, Manito always encourages Mónica to give it her all. During the concerts, he is also playing various other string instruments, including the Laud (Spanish Lute).

Mónica Coronado was born and raised in Barcelona. Her parents are originally from Castilla de la Mancha. She often listened to flamenco music in her father's car. At the age of 25, she took her guitar and went on a musical world tour. During this period, she tried various musical styles. Via Cuba, America, and India, she eventually ended up in the Netherlands where she studied light music in Arnhem.

Manito started playing guitar at a very young age. He developed his own style on the flamenco guitar. His guitar playing is intuitive and rich in various influences. With his fiery and narrative improvisations, Manito is in a constant dialogue with Monica. His name is a direct reference to the French guitar legend 'Manitas de Plata'.
