Na het overweldigende succes van de voorstelling ‘The New Diamonds – The Story of the Blue Diamonds’, keren Patrick Drabe en Steffen de Wolff terug naar de theaters met een gloednieuw hoofdstuk: part 2. Wat begon als een eenmalig eerbetoon, groeide uit tot een complete theatertour vol nostalgie, emotie en muzikaliteit. Maar het verhaal van The Blue Diamonds is nog lang niet uitverteld.
De oorsprong van deze muzikale reis ligt bij het legendarische duo The Blue Diamonds, bestaande uit de broers Ruud en Riem de Wolff. Ze veroverden begin jaren zestig de wereld met hits als ‘Ramona’ en toerden langs uitverkochte stadions in Indonesië, Scandinavië, Australië en Midden-Amerika. Na hun diensttijd veranderde het muzieklandschap drastisch door de komst van onder anderen The Beatles, waardoor hun populariteit in Europa langzaam afnam. Toch bleven ze iconen in het Verre Oosten, waar ze tot ver in de jaren 80 optraden.
Na het overlijden van Ruud in 2000 vond Riem met steun van collega-artiesten én zijn zoon Steffen de kracht om door te gaan. Onder de naam The New Diamonds brachten zij in 2001 het album ‘Out Of The Blue’ uit, geproduceerd door Patrick Drabe. Dit markeerde een nieuw begin; Riem trad nog jaren op – solo en met The New Diamonds – tot zijn overlijden in 2017.
In 2023 werd de muzikale nalatenschap van Ruud en Riem geëerd door The New Diamonds met een succesvol eerbetoon in De Doelen in Rotterdam. De reacties waren zó positief, dat het publiek riep om meer en de voorstelling werd geboren. En nu is er Part 2.
‘The New Diamonds – The Story of the Blue Diamonds Part 2’ is een vervolg én een vernieuwing. De grote hits van weleer blijven onverminderd centraal staan, maar de voorstelling is verrijkt met nieuwe liedjes én bijbehorende verhalen. Want achter elk nummer schuilt een herinnering, een reis, een menselijk moment dat het waard is om verteld en gedeeld te worden.
Met deze voorstelling laten Steffen de Wolff en Patrick Drabe zien dat de erfenis van The Blue Diamonds nog springlevend is – op het podium, in de muziek én in het hart van het publiek. The New Diamonds nemen je opnieuw mee op een muzikale reis vol warmte, charme en tijdloze melodieën.

After the overwhelming success of the performance 'The New Diamonds – The Story of the Blue Diamonds', Patrick Drabe and Steffen de Wolff return to the theaters with a brand new chapter: part 2. What started as a one-off tribute grew into a complete theater tour full of nostalgia, emotion and musicality. But the story of The Blue Diamonds is far from over.
The origins of this musical journey lie with the legendary duo The Blue Diamonds, consisting of brothers Ruud and Riem de Wolff. They conquered the world in the early 1960s with hits such as 'Ramona' and toured sold-out stadiums in Indonesia, Scandinavia, Australia and Central America. After their service, the music landscape changed drastically with the arrival of The Beatles, among others, which slowly reduced their popularity in Europe. Yet they remained icons in the Far East, where they performed well into the 1980s.
After Ruud's death in 2000, Riem found the strength to continue with the support of fellow artists and his son Steffen. Under the name The New Diamonds they released the album 'Out Of The Blue' in 2001, produced by Patrick Drabe. This marked a new beginning;
In 2023, the musical legacy of Ruud and Riem was honored by The New Diamonds with a successful tribute in De Doelen in Rotterdam. The reactions were so positive that the audience shouted for more and the performance was born. A now ice is Part 2.
'The New Diamonds – The Story of the Blue Diamonds Part 2' is a sequel and a renewal. The big hits of yesteryear remain central, but the performance has been enriched with new songs and accompanying stories.
